I've lived in Dallas all my life and have known about Pete's but just never went in. Until New Year's Eve. Pete was behind the bar the entire night serving great drinks and food. It's the first time that I met him. I have been back 4 times in two weeks. Great atmosphere and really friendly service. The Dancing Tuna sandwich is something near perfection! Pete now knows me by name. It's my new favorite spot in Deep Ellum!
This and White Rock Ale House have the two most killer burgers in Dallas. They understand the concept of rare and will serve it up to perfection. No pickles anywhere near your plate, you got it. Dressings on the side, not a problem The bartender is great, between him the food I will be a regular. I do have one question, the first time I was there I received a Yelp discount, the second time no. Still I'm not going to let the lack of a discount stand between me and a killer burger.
We had so much fun sitting at the bar talking to Pete the owner! We got take out during covid a few times and it was always packaged well and still so warm when we got it home. The inside is so fun and a great atmosphere.
A Dallas staple and a Deep Ellum landmark. Great food and even better company. It's a place where you can feel comfortable and the staff will always remember your name. They haven't been around 25+ years for nothin!
